Coming undone {Mayo Day 6}

Step 1. Remove dressing & netting around head.

Step 2. Soothe child with favorite thing (in this case: bottle).

Step 3. Remove tape, gauze, and electrodes from head using acetone (sting!).

Step 4. Understand why child has been screaming & itching head for last 48 hours.

Step 5. Finally: the awaited-for-a-whole-week bath.

Step 6. Try another bottle.

Step 6. How about some Benadryl for that itching?

Step 7. Go HOME!

My heart goes out to little Amelia. I love her so, but as Grandma Fern would say, "The Lord loves her more."

Love,

oh dear! I am visiting your blog for the first time since we talked at Relevant about vaccines, etc., in the Dayspring room.

I am so sorry about your daughter's hospital stay and will be praying for her! She looks like a sweet little one!

I'm in the middle of a vaccine-think-through guide on my blog, and would welcome any input you have... but I'll understand if you can't get to it any time soon!! (http://eowyns-heir.blogspot.com/)

Have you heard of the Weston A. Price Foundation or read any of their stuff? They are really solid and maybe something on their site could help Amy?

Praying for you, sister!!

Gen..was she allergic to something in the bandages (like latex?) or was it just that they were there for a week? Our son has a latex allergy and that is what his spots look like when a latex bandaid is put on without us knowing.

Sorry for all your craziness.

Grace/Teresa,
I don't think she's allergic to latex, as I haven't seen this reaction from any other tape or anything. But she does have a severe reactive dermatitis reaction to things that are there for too long...I think she started reacting around Day 4 and had 2 days of awfulness before they finally took her off.
